If You Are One of the GR Creators

Mindnet 104000000 stitch.jpg

First and foremost, Thank You! You were part of creating a series provided a great range of stories, characters, technology, and nuances that hooked many of us. Looking back we know that the show wasn't like other shows and the following excerpt from the About the Series article sums up what we found so endearing about it, but also the unfortunate outcome of providing a show that was outside of the typical formula:

The show is atypical, too, in that the good guys do not always win, or at least not hands down. Although Zachary and the Series Five team rescue Eliza Foxx's body from the Psychocrypt, the Queen still holds Eliza's psychocrystal, a story thread that is never resolved in the series' 65 episodes. At times villains escape, although it's usually in the wake of a larger triumph. Still, the ambiguity that makes GR so popular with an adult audience was undoubtedly a factor in the demise of the show.

This site in name was created by fans in 1999 and was meant to be a central hub for all things Galaxy Rangers. A site to connect the other sites, hold the data and be a repository for fans of the series. Through an unfortunate series of events, the site went dark for many years and fell off to the Empty Zone until late 2017. We're happy to be able to bring the site back and are updating and adding content as we discover it.

You Can Help The Site

The great new is that you can help us out!

We're always looking for anything, especially pre-production things or insights from the past. This is not an immediate need or request statement, just something to keep in the back of your mind if you come across something or have that moment of nostalgia, we welcome GR material. Apart from memories, content drives the site!

Stories\Insights\Memories

It might be seeing the Village Voice help wanted ad, tales of working on the production itself, thoughts or intentions with story-lines or designs, or memories of fellow creators. We're interested in those stories!

We've found a few blogs out there some still very active like Dan Fiorella's and some that are no longer active but have some insights like John Rawlin's or artwork as seen on Ray Shenusay's blog. Our goals are to linking to, or with permission for items that are directly part of the Galaxy Ranger history, integrate into the site with attribution and linking to the original source.

Production Material

We openly welcome artwork (old or new), scripts, treatments, and documentation, however these items are probably the hardest as they involve scanning or photographing the work. We'd even assist in this work (this involves mailing and a large amount of trust) if needed.

For scanned images our intentions are to not only provide the artwork for viewing by fans, but to attribute the artist, match the artwork with the post-production example, and if permissible, watermarking with the site name. Below is an example that is being worked on of a BETA Frigate and has been matched with The Comanche, marked with Brad Fox's name and the watermark.

If you have specific requests, we will of course abide by those, link to designated sites, etc. If we scan them, we'll send the full scale untouched files electronically along with the physical copies.

What Are You Doing These Days?

We're always interested in new projects, general news, or even "I'm retired, living on the beach and sketching until the sun goes down!"

Badges? Badges!

Without bringing Blazing Saddles into this, we have a side project for badges. If you have one of the badges that were given out to some of the creators: we are looking for pictures of them. If you have one, we'd love a picture of it to be able to add to an upcoming gallery of them.

Podcast

Final item: there's a podcast over at Series6Podcast.com. Two gentlemen are reviewing the series episode by episode, and we're trying to support them whenever we can because they are fun and they were indirectly instrumental in the re-obtainment of this site.
