38 years ago, [[Phoenix]] aired in the United States for the first time! I wouldn't find the series until a few weeks later, entirely by accident and only because the dial on the TV was on channel 2. Maybe it was the VCR... either way I started the channel climb up to channel 9 (WLVI out of Cambridge Massachusetts) and saw something flick by on channel 3 (WSBK out of Boston)... something with lasers and a cowboy. I was heading to watch Silverhawks, another show that had started a week earlier in the States. I went back to 3 and I watched it. I was hooked (for life, apparently).

Once you had seen Phoenix, you pretty much had the entirety of what to expect for the rest of the show: space, the wild west, good guys, bad guys, lasers, and a whole lot of action.
