Elite:Dangerous

Post by RabbiBob » Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:24 pm

I played Elite back in '84 when it came out and I had my Commodore 64. I picked up the latest iteration over Thanksgiving and have been touring the galaxy with son... it's sooooo much fun!!

Attached is the original game and also my son and I watching Beetlejuice rise.

I believe it's on sale on Steam right now as well.

Didn't the C64 version use a microphone to sent audio commands to the game? Does the new version use audio commands?

If it did, it was beyond what I had access to. You can do it nowadays with 3rd party programs like VoiceAttack.

I just loaded it on a C64 emulator... holy crap what a throwback.

I'll take cleverly designed gaming > hi-resolution graphics every time!
