No Guts, No Glasslite

In earlier posts, I've complained about Galoob's Galaxy Rangers figures; I love them, I wish I hadn't had to sell them, but they weren't perfect. However, I forgot to mention one of my biggest problems with the Galoob line: the packaging. It was primarily red, which is an eye-catching color, but oth...

Re: prototypes

Since one of the weapons is a Crown Agent rifle, does that mean that Galoob planned to make a Crown Agent figure? If so, I haven't seen any evidence of it, although it would have been a logical choice. Galaxy Rangers had dozens of characters who would have made cool action figures. If only... (sigh)

BETA Force: The Original Galaxy Rangers

If you ever read Robert Mandell's Starlog interview, then you know that he originally pitched Galaxy Rangers as a straight sci-fi series called BETA Force . I'm wondering: has anyone in the fandom ever seen the BETA Force presentation? I'd love to compare it with the actual show and see what was (an...

Re: New cadet reporting for duty

Hey, Bob! You're beginning to discover the joys and sorrows of looking through old TV listings using internet newspaper archives. I looked around through newspaper archives last night and a little this morning and the only regional newspaper in the archive for Bangor didn't run TV listings for the d...

Re: New cadet reporting for duty

Should be fairly ok at this time (FL now AL as of my last edit.) Thank you kindly! It's bugging me now: I swear that it ran on WVII Channel 7 out of Bangor, ME, which is a sister station to WMTW Channel 8 out of Portland, ME. Beyond old memories, geographically I grew up closer to Bangor and it ran...

Re: Galoob catalog mystery

WoW !!! Do not shut up, Mark! we listen to you with attention! That is very nice to hear. Thanks, MaryNiko! The truth is that I do not know why the figure of the queen has a weapon, and horses have eyes. I can only speculate about the Queen, but as for the horses, I'm sure that Galoob chose to save...

Re: Galoob catalog mystery

the lever on the back of the doll, makes him move his arm and desenfunde [draw] the gun. I remember, because I used to have the figures. It's a nice feature, although I have two problems with it: 1. While the figure's normal arm had a regular shoulder joint, the gun-holding arm had limited mobility...

Re: Galoob catalog mystery

Just now noticed the horses' action features: "light-up heads and an action switch which throws the rider off." (That''' teach me to skim the text too quickly!) Those would have been really cool features, especially if you wanted to have one of the villains try to steal one of the horses. ...
