This has been semi-confirmed on the list (one of the staff writers lurks), and I try to base it in episodes as much as possible. The timeline is built on the premise that after the Andorians and Kiwi brought the hyperdrive to Earth in 2086, it still took Terrans a good ten to fifteen years to integrate themselves into the interstellar community.
** Means an idea used in fanfic, but not established by the series.
As always, Gaylord Productions owns the Rangers and their universe. Robert Mandell also created this universe, so credit belongs to them. I'm a broke college student, so to sue me is pointless. I'm not making a cent from this.
With those disclaimers, on with the timeline!
10,000BC - The Ancients of Tarkon create the Heart to keep <br />their planet safe from invaders. The Ancients were <br />embroiled in a Great War with an unknown adversary. While <br />they drove off the invaders (destroying their species?), the <br />adversaries created a malevoent entity later called <br />Scarecrow. It fails to destroy the Heart, and was cast to the <br />(then) uninhabited world of Granna 4. A devestated Tarkon <br />swears off all higher technology.("Scarecrow," "Heart of <br />Tarkon," "Scarecrow's Revenge,"Heartbeat")
Xanadausian culture flourshes. ("Ariel")
Enolan civilization is on the rise. ("Ghost Station")
5000BC - During an interstellar war, Enolan Civilization is <br />destroyed in a supernova. Space Station and AI Speck are sent <br />adrift. ("Ghost Station")
Andorians discover mathematics, which form the basis of their <br />mysticisim and philosophy. Mathematical notation is in wide <br />use before their languages are written. ("Showtime")
1000BC - Space Sorcerers at their peak. ("Space Sorcerer")
Poe Mutant Empire rising. ("One Million Emotions")
**50BC- 200AD - Jesset Dal'Kest leads a revolt on Xanadau. Barely <br />able to stop her, Xanadau is devestated. Most of the Xanadau <br />natives were killed. Jesset is exiled, and the planet put <br />under a cloak. The survivors desperately seek foundlings to <br />rebuild. The mages and students are known as the Circle of <br />Thought.
**1000 years - Jesset Dal'Kest establishes herself on a remote <br />planet. She eventually comes to rule the planet as a distant <br />and feared Warlord.
**1200's - Her name lost to time, Jesset is now known only as <br />"The Queen."
1500's - Poe Mutant Empire collapses.
**1700's - 1900's - The Queen rules open space via piracy, <br />gradually expanding her influence over neighboring systems.
**1900 - With 10 star systems under her direct control, and 5 <br />more under her influence, the Queen is a truly an <br />interstellar menace. The Crown Empire is expanstionistic and <br />ruthless.
**1930's - After the Queen herself negotiates a treaty ending the <br />horrible Clan Wars on Dathia Prime, the Dathian people gladly <br />join the Empire. (NOTE: The Dathians are FANFIC creations)
1950's - Queen conquers Tortuna by killing the native rulers. <br />When the populace refuse to surrender, the Crown respond by <br />razing the suburbs and poisoning the atmosphere, restricting <br />most life forms to the domes. The Crown also makes Tortuna a <br />penal colony. ("Tortuna")
Humans start space exploration.
1980's - Andor and Kirwin conquered. Crown Empire at its peak.
2000 - Earth Calendar Millennium sparks global interest in space <br />exploration and travel. Religious movements ranging from <br />mainstream fundamentalisim to neo-mystic take hold.
Space Sorcerers start feuding among themselves, their magic and <br />influence waning severely.
2015 - Several global coglomerates start a colony to mine Luna. <br />With hundreds of willing colonists, and thousands on the <br />waiting list, the project is a success.
2019 - The same coglomerate starts a colony on Mars.
2021-2049 - The Second Great Depression leaves over 1.5 BILLION <br />unemployed. Most major coglomerates go under. The unemployed <br />beg for a shot to start over. With the colonies now owned by <br />the UN, development of Mars and Luna sharply increases.
2030's - Sleeper ships invented. Thousands of criminals, <br />unemployed,and other "undesirables" cheerfully shipped out by <br />the USCA (United States/Canadian Alliance), European Union, <br />and the East Asian Partnership. Ozark is founded by a sleeper <br />ship belonging to a fundamentalist "back to basics" Christian <br />sect.
2040's - Discontent on Andor and Kirwin leads to civil disorder <br />and revolt. Due to heavy expansion, the Crown forces are <br />starting to grow thin.
2050's - experiments lead to the development of a slow (relative <br />to Andorian hyperdrive) ftl drive. Protodrives lead to the <br />settlement of Nebraska 5.
2058 - Last of the sleeper ships launched. Protodrives now <br />standard.
2060 - protodrive colony ship colonizes Granna 4
2062 - Zachary Alan Foxx is the first child born to Maggie and <br />Alan Foxx.
2063 - Apalled at the rough manners of colony life, Miss Sarah <br />Abercrombie founds a charm school on Nebraska 5.
2065 - Andor and Kirwin declare independence. Their new alliance <br />is known as the League of Planets
2071 - Fleeting contact with extraterrestrials and the landing of <br />an Andorian probe on Earth lead Earth's Government to take <br />measures against possible alien threats. Their response is in <br />the form of soldiers, created just for the purpose. The <br />project is headed by Space Navy Commander Joseph Walsh and <br />Dr. Owen Nagata. Dr. Max Singer is the head genetist. The <br />proposed soldiers are nicknamed "Supertroopers" by a <br />technician. The name sticks. ("Supertroopers", "Gift of Life")
Walter Hartford born in Kingston, Jamacia. The family moves to <br />Philidelphia soon afterward.
2077 - The efforts of local colonial militia and the Space Navy <br />are insufficient to deal with interplanetary crime, <br />planet-hopping criminals, and local disputes too large for <br />local efforts, and too small for the military. Officers are <br />picked from both, and trained as a interplanetary police <br />force/special forces division. An academy is founded, and the <br />new operatives are dubbed "Galaxy Rangers." Among the projects <br />shunted to the Ranger division is the Supertrooper project.
The first batch of Supertroopers (including Ryker Killbane) are <br />deemed "viable."
2078 - Zachary Foxx is among the first class of Ranger cadets.
2079 - Andor and Kirwin finally drive the last Crown leigon from <br />their juristiction. The Empire still refuses to acknowledge <br />the League. (It was hinted in "Phoenix" that the Queen <br />considered Andor and Kirwin hers.)
2080? - Niko born
2084 (June) Zachary Foxx marries Eliza Jackson, a <br />newly-graduated teacher.
(October) The 80th, and last, Supertrooper, later known <br />as Shane Gooseman, is deemed "viable."
**2085 - Ariel Dal'Elspeth finds a starving, frightened girl in <br />the ruins of a house. Sensing the girl has a powerful psi <br />gift, she spirits the child to Xanadau to raise and train as <br />her own. The little girl only remembers her name as "Niko."
2086 - Two peaceful aliens journey to Earth...you know the rest.<br />
<br />** Zozo and Waldo, Ambassadors for the fledgeling League are <br />looking for allies. Sensing that Terran military might could <br />be an asset against the Crown (and the fact that the humans <br />are in danger from the Crown as is - if Earth fell, Andor and <br />Kirwin would have been sandwiched and doomed by the Crown.), <br />the League offers membership to Earth and her colonies. The <br />super-fast Andorian hyperdrive is included in the deal. BETA <br />founded, and Ranger division transferred to their <br />jurisdiction.
2088 - Zachary and Eliza Foxx have their first child, Zachary Jr.
2090's - Humanity finally becomes a major player in the galaxy <br />due to the Andorian hyperdrive. Colonization boom.
2092 - Jessica Foxx born
2096 - Niko Dal'Ariel isgranted permission to leave Xanadau and <br />enroll in the Ranger Academy, provided she never reveal the <br />location or secrets of her planet.
2097 - Amid allegations that he illegallysold genetic data, Max <br />Singer is booted from the Supertrooper project. Rumors fly <br />that Max was framed by higher elements. ("Gift of Life")
Ranger Lieutenant Walter Hartford gets his Ph.D in <br />Computer psychiatry, turning down several lucrative offers in <br />order to continue at BETA.
2100 - After a civilian advisor (Senator Wheiner) releases an <br />unstable DNA accellerant into the barracks air systems, the <br />Supertroopers riot. Nagata's body is killed. 24 Troopers are <br />rendered brain-dead. 23 are captured, 22 escape, and only the <br />youngest, Shane Gooseman, stays loyal to BETA. The brain-dead <br />and captured ST's go into cryostasis. Shane's legal status is <br />hashed out behind closed doors. On the side, Walsh trains the <br />young man as a Ranger. ("Supertroopers", "Galaxy Stranger")
January 2102 - The final treaties are signed, officially making <br />Earth a member of the League of Planets. 80 humans are <br />captured when the Crown suddenly re-emerges in a lighting <br />raid on Kirwin.
In an unrelated incedent, a pirate operating under a <br />Crown Letter of Marque siezes the Ranger vessel *Phoenix,* <br />carrying Ambassadors Waldo and Zozo, Capt. Zachary Foxx, <br />Eliza Foxx, and the two Foxx children. While the Ambassadors <br />and the children escaped relatively unscathed, Capt. Foxx was <br />severely injured in the escape, and Eliza did not escape at all.
Outraged, the League declare war on the Crown. In need <br />of a small, elite special force to deal with certain types of <br /> Crown threats, the League turns to BETA and the Rangers. <br />BETA's labs were ready to field-test the still-experimental <br />Series-5 implant. Capt. Foxx volunteers to lead the team. He <br />and three other Rangers - Dr. Walter Hartford, Niko, and <br />Shane Gooseman - are fitted. ("Phoenix", "New Frontier")
